Tis the Season

Well Thanksgiving is over and it seems like as soon as the leftovers were packaged in Tupperware and the dishes were done, Lucky and Pasha have been on my case about their Holiday wish lists! Panasonic has released the new Pet Cam that allows you to monitor your pet when you're not at home, and also load video onto their pet lover community website SeeMyPetCam.com where tons of pet loves share delicious videos of their pets! But Luck goes with me wherever I go, so what's the point of that? Why not get yourself a gift while getting your dog one by flying out to Cancun and staying at a local pet friendly hotel like Le Meredian Resort & Spa? The number one thing on Lucky's list is Randolph Duke and Bonsoir Couture's $250,000 diamond studded collar - the most expensive dog collar in the world. It's one of a kind, and I'm sure Trouble, Leona Helmsley's dog already snatched it off the shelf.
She also keeps woofing about Prada's line of collars and leashes that are utterly fab but Lucky knows it would be out of character for her to wear something so chic, for she looks good in everything, no matter what the cost. Leave those expensive ensembles for Paris Hilton or Britney Spears's dogs, those poor pups have to wear so much bling just to keep up with their mommies! If you want to think more frugally, luckily, this year PetSmart offers more than 1000 holiday gifts for your dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile and other small furry animals! Too bad my two little ones can't surf the web, it would make my holiday shopping a lot easier! Animals are always an added joy during the holidays, and a great way to show them off are in a portrait that you can transform into a Holiday Greeting Card. Why not send a photo of you and your little loved ones to your friends and family? Some PetSmart locations are having Santa stop by to take pictures of your pet with "Mr. Claws" himself. The photos would make a great card and guarantee that your pet has been nice and not naughty! Who knows maybe Fred Claus star Paul Giamatti will show up in his S anta costume for Hollywood style portraits. Now some of you may be putting up your Christmas trees and your cats might be purring right towards them. I have heard that cats take quite a likely to Christmas trees, but I know how to keep it from being any major problem! Just cat proof your tree! Use fishing line to connect your tree to the ceiling, or duct tape it to the ground if your tree is short, to ensure your tree won't go tumbling over this holiday. Make sure your ornaments are securely fastened so your kitty won't go pawing them off (and remember to keep the valuable ones way up top where they can't get them). If these tips don't work and your cat still won't budge - spray your tree with citrus smells, you're cat won't go near the tree and all you'll be smelling is a refreshing citrus scent. One last thing!! Don't use tinsel. it's dangerous for your cat; they'll unhook it, play with it and risk the dangers of ingesting or choking on the fibers which could be fatal. It will be a busy month this December with the release of our winter issue of Animal Fair Magazine featuring all the animals Animal Headliners of 2007, our list of this year's Most Eligible Pets, and of course our annual charity calendar! Oh and one last tip from Lucky: Get your holiday shopping done as soon as possible, you don't want to be in the dog pound for forgetting to get anyone or any animal a gift!
